Meet Bob Lessler

Bob Lessler

As an Easton Selectmen for ten terms and member of the Board of Finance for four years, I have a great deal of experience and institutional memory to offer. My strong record of accomplishment and advocacy includes support for our public schools, open space preservation and acquisition, senior tax relief, achieving diversity and balance on appointed boards, common sense land use planning, and pursuing efforts to reduce the tax burden.

I was born in Bridgeport and grew up in Fairfield. I went through the Fairfield public school system, graduating from Andrew Warde High School in 1974.

I have lived in Easton for 29 years with my wife, Debbie. Our two daughters, Sarah and Rebecca, grew up here and attended Easton public schools. After graduating from Union College in 1978, I received my law degree from American University in 1981. I then went into private legal practice for 17 years, until starting my current position in the Connecticut Judicial Branch as Clerk of the Bridgeport Juvenile Court.

In Easton, I have been Selectman from 1997 to 2001 and from 2003 to today. I also served on the Board of Finance from 1994 - 1997, the EMS and Firefighters Tax Abatement Committee, and the 1997 HKMS Building Committee.

I am committed to maintaining and enhancing our public school system and protecting our unique rural character. I want to find a revenue-positive use for the South Park Avenue property. I will encourage community-building activities and recreational opportunities consistent with our new plan of conservation and development.
